Dermoscopy

Dermoscopy is a specialised, non-invasive method of skin surface microscopy used to carefully examine suspicious skin lesions. With the aid of a dermatoscope, Dermatologists can identify abnormal moles and detect certain skin cancers such as basal cell carcinomas and malignant melanomas which have characteristic features. Many benign skin lesions can also be recognised by their dermatoscopic features.
