Surgical procedures are scheduled at a date soon after the initial consultation.
When choosing a date for surgery you should consider that postoperative wound healing times may interfere with work commitments or physical activities. Sutures are removed 1 to 2 weeks following surgery.
It is advisable not to schedule for surgery if you are planning to be away interstate or overseas in the 1 or 2 weeks after the scheduled date. This would make it difficult for us to communicate pathology results, check that your wound is healing and remove the sutures.
For urgent surgical cases, we will do our best to schedule the procedure as soon as possible.
If you feel that your scheduled date for the surgery is not suitable or too far down the track, it may be possible to have the surgery scheduled at another of our clinic locations, if the surgical waiting list there is shorter. Followup and suture removal could then be arranged at the most convenient location for you.
